So, you’ve finally decided to bite the bullet and get something done about your sparse, over-plucked brows but are then are hit with a really tough decision. Who should I trust to do the treatment?
So, who does the best Microblading?
In the last couple of years the popularity of this service has exploded, social media is saturated with posts and there have been numerous blogs and stories in beauty magazines. The number of people offering this service has also increased hugely over the last 18 months and the levels of expertise is sadly very varied.
I have heard many horror stories including clients walking into a waiting room with 5 other people sitting with numbing cream on, not exactly the personal service you were looking for.
Permanent Makeup is often an investment service and can be expensive and timely to remove, having badly executed brows on your face can really destroy your confidence, so it’s essential that you chose the right place for you.
Top Tips for Choosing the Right Practitioner
There are a few things you can do to help choose the best practitioner for you. My top tips are below:
- Check the website gallery or social media accounts of the business, make sure there are lots of examples of their work with before and after photos.
- Check their credentials – do not be afraid to ask about the training they took and how long they have been practising, your practitioner will not be offended and will often appreciate someone doing their research.
- Is the clinic reputable? Check reviews on Google/Trustpilot, people will often speak out if they are unhappy about treatments.
- Make sure you like the look of their work – this one is really key. If the practitioner specialises in very bold brows and you want to have extremely natural results then they may not be the right person for you.
- Do you feel comfortable with them? It’s important to feel that you are in the right place and sometimes it’s simply not a good fit.
- Ask for a call/consultation with the person who will be doing the treatment. This way you can discuss the look you are trying to achieve and ask any questions you may have about the treatment and aftercare. They will be able to guide you on the shape and colour that will best suit your features.
- Do try and have your questions answered before the appointment. The time allocated for the treatment is usually just that, so you won’t want this being taken up with questions.
- Feel free to ask about hygiene and cross contamination – how is the clinic keeping you safe when providing treatments?
Why Price Matters When Having Microblading
There is a saying amongst practitioners: Cheap brows are never good and good brows are never cheap.
Please be wary of anyone offering this service for significantly less than other clinics or on ‘offer websites’. There will be a good reason why – perhaps they have recently trained and are looking for ways to grow their portfolio, which is fine but needs to be disclosed.
Unfortunately, we have performed an increasing number of removals over the last 18 months from people getting what they perceived as a ‘bargain’ from voucher companies or clinics. I’m not saying that it’s not possible to get really great brows at a good rate, but it’s really important to understand why.
The vast majority of people will have a really positive experience after their Microblading treatment and absolutely love not having to worry about pencils, powders and pomades any longer.
Follow the tips above and you’ll be in a really good position to choose the right clinic for you.
Good luck and enjoy your new, beautiful brows! You can also watch our video which covers our most frequently asked questions about what happens when you have microblading.
Can Microblading be Removed?
Unfortunately, removals are on the rise. The good news is that there are some really effective methods for removing permanent makeup.
We offer both Emergency Removals for work that is under 48 hours old and regular removal services also.
