Dermaplaning Facials
For instantly refreshed & vibrant skin
Dermaplaning exfoliation treatment.
Dermaplaning is an exciting new manual exfoliation treatment that gives you glowing, dewy, fresh looking skin instantly.
Our facials use a surgical grade scalpel to gently scrape away the top layer of the skin, removing trapped dirt, peach fuzz hair and oil leaving the skin glowing, dewy and incredibly soft. Dermaplaning is a great option for anyone looking to have flawless looking skin with or without makeup.
Dermaplaning for True Exfoliation
Not all professional treatments take multiple sessions to see results. Dermaplaning is the ideal ‘quick fix’ treatment taking just 30 minutes. This is a method of deep exfoliation using a surgical grade scalpel that gently scrapes off the top layer of dulling, dead skin and fine hair. Your skin is instantly luminous with a glow that is impossible to achieve from at home exfoliation.
The Benefits of Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is incredibly popular amongst celebrities as it also helps eliminate the ‘peach fuzz’ that can often leave your makeup looking cakey. Removal of this facial hair, along with the dead skin cells, creates a truly bright and beautiful complexion. It also allows for much greater penetration of your skincare products too, leaving you with longer lasting results.
Who is Dermaplaning for?
Dermaplaning can be used on all skin types except those with active or deep cystic acne. It’s recommended that any breakouts clear before undergoing this treatment. While it may sound quite harsh, dermaplaning is actually very gentle. It could also be compared to shaving your legs only in this case, someone is very gently scraping the face.
The process
The aesthetician will begin by cleansing and drying the skin before gently pulling your skin taut ready for the scraping action to start. Swift strokes at a 45 degree angle are carried out throughout the treatment. As previously mentioned, this painless treatment takes just 30 minutes and requires no downtime. Treatments start from £85.
Commonly Asked Questions
What happens during the treatment?
We start by double cleansing the skin with an antibacterial cleanser, we then tone and blot the skin dry. We ‘scrape’ the scalpel across the very top layer of the upper dermis removing fine hair and dead skin.
This may sound alarming, but most people are so relaxed that they fall asleep during the treatment. Once we have completed the removal, we will cleanse again and apply a protective balm and an SPF cream.
Why should you have Dermaplaning?
As we age our skin turnover decreases creating a build up of dull looking skin, this treatment:
- Reduces fine lines and acne scarring
- Removes vellous hair
- Increases cell turnover promoting younger, fresher skin
- Removes trapped oil and dirt
- Safe treatment for all skin types and ages
- Results are immediately visible
- Better penetration of your skincare products

Who should have Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a great treatment for anyone with dry skin, fine lines, pigmentation and acne scarring. It is particularly beneficial for ageing skin to assist with cell turnover. Unfortunately we are unable to treat anyone with active acne or other skin conditions which could be exacerbated.
Will my hair grow back thicker?
No, it definitely will not, vellous hair is different from the hair on your head and eyebrows, Dermaplaning does not affect hair growth at all.
How often should I have the treatment?
We recommend having Dermaplaning every 4-6 weeks.
How will I look after the treatment?
Your skin will be incredibly soft and glowing, you may experience some redness, although this will go down within 2-12 hours.
What is the aftercare?
- Patients may have a treatment every 4-6 weeks
- Aerobic exercise or vigorous physical activity should be avoided until redness has subsided
- Avoid direct sun exposure, including sunbeds, avoid self tanners for the first week
- SPF 30+ must be applied daily to the treated area for a minimum of four weeks, however we recommend continued daily use
- Twice daily cleanse the treated area with a post treatment cleanser, followed by a serum or treatment cream and follow with SPF 30+ sunscreen

Does it hurt ?
It is completely normal to feel anxious about the procedures. We use a range of topical anaesthetics to ensure that you are as relaxed as possible during the treatment and that any discomfort is kept to an absolute minimum. Most clients describe the sensation as ‘tingling vibrations’ rather than pain and many fall asleep during the procedure.
