What is the treament like?
We usually start with a light glycolic peel to ‘prepare’ the skin so that it can absorb the serums more effectively, we then mix the meso cocktail depending on your concerns, a tiny nano needle is used to administer the cocktail in the superficial layers of the skin making the treatment near painless.
Directly after the treatment, the skin will be tighter, more hydrated and glowing, there may be some redness, which will disappear within a couple of hours. If we are using the NCTF compound then you may notice small bumps under the skin which will disappear within 24 hours.
With Aqualyx, you may experience tenderness, swelling and bruising in the area for 7 days following the treatment.
Mesotherapy Aftercare Advice
- If any redness persists do not go back to using glycolic acid until it is resolved
- Skin may feel dry and tight, this is quite normal. Please use extra moisturiser during this period
- Do not use a sunbed, sunbathe, sauna or steam bath for 24 hours after Mesotherapy
- Always use recommended sun protection
- Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching (face) for 5 days
- Do not swim in chlorinated water for 3-5 days
- No excessive exercise immediately after
- Make up can be applied after 24 hours
- Take directed advice if undergoing laser or IPL treatment

What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a treatment that provides a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and hyaluronic acid. It is designed to boost cell turnover, hydrate and provide essential supplements to the skin. It is delivered by a series of very superficial injections (barely breaking the skin) or micro needling. The purpose of Mesotherapy is to replace what your skin is missing, accelerate healing and reduce hair loss.
What should I do before mesotherapy?
- Since delicate skin or sensitive areas may be swollen or red, you are advised not to make social plans on the day of your treatment
- Do not take aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 24 hours before your treatment.
- Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor.
- Keep alcohol intake to a minimum 24 hour before your treament
- Do not use Retinols or Vitamin C skincare products close to the area to be treated for 2 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid professional chemical peels, laser treatments and any other invasive procedures close to the treatment site for 4 weeks before.

What is the aftercare?
There is no aftercare other than to not apply makeup for 12 hours after the treatment, your skin will continue to absorb anything that is applied after the treatment so we ask that you do not apply cosmetics during this time.
How will my face look after mesotherapy?
Generally patients will be able to return to normal activities immediately after having mesotherapy. Tiny bumps may be visible where the solution was injected and these can last anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours.
You may experience:
- Redness and flushing
- A little swelling and tenderness
- Bruising and bleeding, although bruising is very rare due to how shallow the injections are
Extremely rare side effects may include infections and ulceration.

How long is the appointment?
Plasma is a really quick treatment and can be completed in your lunch break if needed, allow 30-40 minutes total or less if you are not wearing makeup!
What if I am nervous?
It’s perfectly normal to be a little nervous before your treatment, the plasma shower is painless and very relaxing but do address any concerns with your practitioner during the consultation.
